COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is a project-based synthesis of the techniques and methodologies of Operations Research and Industrial Engineering covered in other courses. This is not a course in the classical sense. The projects are concerned with the design of complex systems and may involve modeling and analysis of manufacturing and service systems based on demand, resource, capacity, location, computer-integration, and information requirements. IE 408 is devoted to the construction of solution methodologies and decision support system, and implementation of the proposed solution to the realized problem in IE 407.
